De Brauw contributes Netherlands chapter to ICLG - fintech 2024

De Brauw's chapter in the 2024 edition of The International Comparative Legal Guide - Fintech provides a detailed overview of the fintech landscape, market developments, and regulatory regime in the Netherlands. The chapter reflects on the Netherlands' position as a global frontrunner in fintech, highlighting its strong business climate, digital infrastructure, and innovative companies such as Adyen, CM.com, Floryn, Mollie, neobank Bunq, Buckaroo, Bitfury, BUX, Online Payment Platform, and Flow Traders.

We are also pleased to note that the Netherlands ranks ninth on Bloomberg’s most recent Innovation Index (2021) and seventh on the World Intellectual Property Organization’s Global Innovation Index. Additionally, the Netherlands hosts Money 20/20 Europe, the continent’s largest and most significant annual fintech event.

The publication provides insights into the thriving fintech ecosystem in the Netherlands, covering traditional sectors like payments, asset management, and credit provision, as well as specialized areas such as InsurTech, BigTech, PensionTech, RegTech, and LegalTech. The chapter emphasizes the Netherlands' attractiveness to international fintech investors due to its central geographical location, skilled workforce, and hubs in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Delft, and Eindhoven.

We are proud to share our expertise in this guide, contributing to the global understanding of fintech regulations and advancements. You can find the chapter here.
