AerCap to acquire International Lease Finance Corporation from AIG

De Brauw acts as Dutch legal counsel to American International Group, Inc. (AIG) on the divestment of its wholly owned subsidiary International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC) to AerCap.

Debevoise & Plimpton LLP acts as US counsel to AIG. The total transaction value is approximately USD 5.4 billion. When the transaction closes, AIG will own approximately 46% of the combined company, while the existing AerCap shareholders will own approximately 54% of the combined company.​

The combined company will retain the name AerCap, and ILFC will become a wholly owned subsidiary of AerCap.
