Anja is a partner in De Brauw's Corporate / M&amp;A practice. In recent years, she held several leadership roles in the firm, including as management board member, hiring partner and head of the energy industry group. 
Anja specialises in corporate law, contract law and mergers &amp; acquisitions. She has extensive experience in various industry sectors including tech, infrastructure, energy, banking and insurance. Her expertise ranges from strategic deals to private equity, hybrid corporate projects, distressed M&amp;A and structuring/restructuring, both national and international. 
In addition to her role as partner of De Brauw, Anja is a supervisory board member at Gasunie (Chair of Remco) and Het Concertgebouw. 
Corporate projects and M&amp;A deals that have been led by Anja or in which Anja was closely involved: 
Vopak on the acquisition of a 29% share in an LNG import terminal in Pakistan, and a 49% share in an LNG import terminal in Colombia, the acquisition and restructuring of Exmar’s LNG business and various other international matters.
APG on the controlled auction and divestment of Loyalis to ASR.
Waterland private equity on various acquisitions and joint ventures in the waste-to-energy sector including the acquisition and divestment of Attero.
TenneT on various Corporate and M&amp;A matters including the North Sea Wind Hub and the acquisition of the power grids from Stedin, Eneco, Nuon, Essent and Delta, subsequent to the acquisition of Transpower in Germany.
Caldic on the divestment of its worldwide business to PE funds managed by Goldman Sachs and various cross border deals including in Canada, Denmark, Finland, Spain and Malaysia.
SNS REAAL on its divestment of the insurance business REAAL to the Chinese Anbang Insurance Group.
Achmea on various corporate and M&amp;A matters including Independer, Inshared and Achmea Health Centres.
Tata on its contemplated European joint venture with Thyssenkrupp, together with the Best Friends Slaughter and May and Hengeler Mueller.
IMCD on its Initial Public Offering and in relation to various international acquisitions.

Henk specialises in tax and corporate law and, in particular, mergers and acquisitions and private equity structuring. Since joining De Brauw, Henk has advised numerous multinationals and private equity clients on public and private transactions, leveraged buy-outs, complex cross-border transactions, corporate restructurings, (re-)financings and the structuring of management incentive plans.
Legal 500 has recognised Henk as a "leading individual", with Chambers stating that Henk is "up and coming". In 2020, 2021 and 2023, Henk was nominated by MenA.nl (the Dutch M&amp;A awards) as the Netherlands' best M&amp;A tax adviser.

Henk van Ravenhorst

Birgit specialises in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance. Since joining De Brauw's corporate practice in 1996, Birgit has advised listed and unlisted companies on their corporate structure and governance as well as on defences against hostile takeovers. She also handles general corporate matters including restructurings, transfer of legal form, mergers and demergers. A specialist in anti-money laundering legislation, Birgit is professor of Corporate Compliance and Anti-Money Laundering at Radboud University Nijmegen. She is the founder of our AML practice group, which provides specialist advice on AML legislation, the implementation of AML in policies and agreements, and dealings with regulators. Birgit lectures on corporate law, anti-money laundering and notarial law, and she regularly publishes commentaries and articles in legal journals. She completed her Ph.D. on transfer of legal entities' legal form at the University of Groningen in 2010.

As counsel in De Brauw’s regulatory group, Eva specialises in the regulation of Dutch and EU financial markets, advising large financial undertakings on a wide range of regulatory and pension matters. These include outsourcing, duty of care rules and governance, and funding requirements. Eva handles complex transition processes, such as where undertakings face financial distress or pension funds need advice in the ongoing consolidating trend. Eva also advises on the regulatory aspects of M&amp;A transactions in the financial sector.
