As a senior adviser on law and AI, Andreas contributes to complex international matters handled by De Brauw's Privacy, Data & Cybersecurity team, and advises clients on questions relating to AI, data protection and the AI Act. Having obtained his PhD thesis on AI, Andreas offers specific expertise about how AI works from a technological and conceptual perspective, which is invaluable for clients seeking AI advice.

Andreas also combines his legal practice with academic research. He contributes to leading academic journals and prominent publishers, including IDPL (Oxford University Press); Computer Law & Security Review (Elsevier); IEEE and Springer. His contribution to the EU law blog discussing Automated Decision Making under the GDPR was the most-read blog post in 2023. Andreas also gives guest lectures and speaks at international conferences, for example at MIT.

During his first two years at De Brauw, Andreas worked as a senior legal adviser in the Privacy, Data & Cybersecurity group, combining legal practice with his PhD research. Before joining De Brauw, Andreas worked for the privacy and cybersecurity practice of an international law firm based in Amsterdam. Before that, Andreas was part of the Privacy and ICT law practice at a "Big four" accountancy firm in Zurich.
