Anja is a partner in De Brauw's Corporate / M&A practice. In recent years, she held several leadership roles in the firm, including as management board member, hiring partner and head of the energy industry group.
Anja specialises in corporate law, contract law and mergers & acquisitions. She has extensive experience in various industry sectors including tech, infrastructure, energy, banking and insurance. Her expertise ranges from strategic deals to private equity, hybrid corporate projects, distressed M&A and structuring/restructuring, both national and international.
In addition to her role as partner of De Brauw, Anja is a supervisory board member at Gasunie (Chair of Remco) and Het Concertgebouw.

Vopak on the acquisition of a 29% share in an LNG import terminal in Pakistan, and a 49% share in an LNG import terminal in Colombia, the acquisition and restructuring of Exmar’s LNG business and various other international matters.
APG on the controlled auction and divestment of Loyalis to ASR.
Waterland private equity on various acquisitions and joint ventures in the waste-to-energy sector including the acquisition and divestment of Attero.
TenneT on various Corporate and M&A matters including the North Sea Wind Hub and the acquisition of the power grids from Stedin, Eneco, Nuon, Essent and Delta, subsequent to the acquisition of Transpower in Germany.
Caldic on the divestment of its worldwide business to PE funds managed by Goldman Sachs and various cross border deals including in Canada, Denmark, Finland, Spain and Malaysia.
SNS REAAL on its divestment of the insurance business REAAL to the Chinese Anbang Insurance Group.
Achmea on various corporate and M&A matters including Independer, Inshared and Achmea Health Centres.
Tata on its contemplated European joint venture with Thyssenkrupp, together with the Best Friends Slaughter and May and Hengeler Mueller.
