Summary

Jaap is a corporate partner and specialises in M&A, venture capital, capital markets and corporate governance. He has advised on numerous (friendly and hostile) public offers and strategic M&A deals and has been involved in most of the largest Dutch venture capital funding rounds. He has also assisted various issuers in Dutch IPOs and regularly advises clients on a wide range of corporate matters (including board structures, fiduciary duties, disclosure obligations and activist shareholders).

Jaap has been ranked as 'Next Generation Partner' by Legal500 in both Corporate/M&A and Equity Capital Markets.

Jaap is a noted expert in company law. He holds the position of Professor of Legal Aspects of Corporate Transactions at the University of Groningen, has authored numerous publications on corporate law and M&A, and is a regular speaker at conferences.
