Jeroen is an international disputes lawyer with a focus on international law and ESG regulation. He advises clients on ESG-related legal challenges and disputes, where he has specific expertise on climate litigation, greenwashing, governance, human rights and environmental due diligence, climate-change risks, stakeholder engagement and supply chain responsibility. Jeroen regularly speaks and publishes on business and human rights, and ESG in the context of litigation, risk management and corporate governance.
Jeroen also has experience in international commercial and investment arbitration, cross-border litigation and class actions. He has a particular interest in corporate disputes and complex commercial contracts in an international setting. Jeroen has represented a wide range of Dutch and international clients in legal proceedings before state courts on complex contractual matters and class actions. He also has litigation experience under the rules of various arbitration institutes, such as the ICC, NAI, LCIA and ICSID. He has furthermore been involved in execution and enforcement proceedings (including attachments and summary proceedings) relating to arbitral awards.
In 2021 and 2022, Jeroen was seconded to the Milan office of top-tier European firm BonelliErede for seven months, where he worked in the International Arbitration practice in ICC, LCIA and ICSID arbitral proceedings, either as counsel or in a supporting role to arbitrators. Before joining De Brauw, Jeroen was a lawyer at Stibbe in Amsterdam.
